The walimex pro Aptaris Universal XL MK II advanced set provides relief during prolonged periods of filming. The Universal XL MK II cage can be quite simply attached to the rod module using a clamping screw. The double rod clamp provided means that the 400 mm rods in the set can be attached too, giving more room for adding accessories such as follow focus or the matte box. Furthermore, the difference in height between the basic rods and the lens when filming with a battery grip or an interface unit is balanced out. The shoulder support is pushed over the rod system (15 mm industry standard) and securely attached. It is designed so that it can be used for left or right shoulder. Soft foam padding ensures it is comfortable and pleasant to wear even for prolonged use. Just like the shoulder support, the grip module is attached via the 15 mm rods. Thanks to their ergonomic design, the grips fit comfortably into your hand. The Aptaris cable guard included in the set is a useful tool for protecting your camera's cable connectors.

walimex pro Aptaris Universal XL Mk II provides you with even more possibilities. With its additional 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch tapped bores, accessories like a microphone or a filming light can be mounted even more flexibly. The new and bigger handle makes it even more comfortable to carry. Apart from that it comes with two 1/4 inch and four 3/8 inch tapped bores. The Universal XL Mk II matches all common cameras, such as e.g. Panasonic GH-4, Nikon D800 or Canon 5D Mark III. In short, for all cameras whose flash shoe and tripod thread are positioned on one axis and do not exceed or fall short of the inside measurements of the cage. Aptaris is simply fastened to the camera by the flash shoe of the camera and the camera screw fitting (1/4-inch thread). The adjustability of the cage in height via four Allen screws is an absolute highlight. This makes the version suitable for a vast range of cameras. Two small hooks on the camera mount, which can be individually adapted to the camera, ensure absolutely skid-free mounting.
Due to its vast number of 1/4 inch threads on all sides as well as a 3/8 inch thread on the bottom side, a vast amount of accessories, like microphones or LED-lights, can be mounted, just as desired. The adjustable handle, which can be mounted at the top, the bottom or at the sides, just as required, provides additional flexibility in use. This enables also filming near ground level. Due to an adapter plate with Manfrotto PL 501 standard, you can also mount Aptaris on a Manfrotto tripod. Access to battery compartment, memory card etc. is in any case ensured.

Tripod adapter
The tripod adapter enables simple and quick relocation of your camera in the Cage from Rig to tripod. You only need to screw the tripod plate of your tripod on to the adapter. The Aptaris tripod adapter has the same receptacle as the Aptaris Rod module and is thus compatible with the Aptaris Universal XL, Universal XL Mk II and Universal Frame. The tripod plate is fastened to the Aptaris tripod adapter in the usual way via 1/4“ or 3/8“ threads.

Cable guard
Defective jacks and cable connections are things of days gone by. No matter whether USB, flash synchronization or HDMI connections: The Cable Protection protects these highly sensitive areas against defects caused by pulling the cable. One or several cables at a time can be simply routed through and fixed with two knurled screws. Rubber paddings on either side protects the cables against damage. This padding also allows you to fix cables of different thicknesses. With two 1/4 inch screws the cable protection can be flexibly fastened on the Cage. Just like all accessory parts of the Aptaris system, this cable protection has also been developed and made in Germany. It is characterized by its outstanding workmanship. Extremely light and long lasting aircraft aluminium is also used for this product.
