The Irix 45mm f/1.4 lens is a fast f/1.4 lens with a classic 50 degree field of view, created for your full frame (35mm) camera. It’s available in Nikon F, Canon EF, and Pentax K mounts.
The combination of fast aperture and a classic focal length makes this lens extremely practical. You can use it both for portrait photos (on which you can blur the background effectively), or during a trip where you can take breathtaking landscapes creating extremely sharp images.

The 45mm focal length will let you capture the world more creatively than a standard 35mm or 50mm lens. At the same time, the fast f/1.4 aperture will allow you to effectively separate the subject from the background. The Irix 45mm f/1.4 lens was designed to give a detailed image from just f/1.4, being even sharper at higher f-stop values. Thanks to the 9 rounded aperture blades, the areas outside the depth of field remain smooth, with a beautiful bokeh.
High-quality lenses must be ready to work in all conditions. Therefore, the design of the Irix 45mm f/1.4 has no compromises – our premium class lens uses only the best materials in its construction. The guarantee of operation in all conditions is provided by a sealing system located in key areas of the lens. Equally important, the lens does not change its dimensions during focus pulling, eliminating the risk of dirt particles getting swept into the internal structure. These properties not only allow you to work in demanding conditions, but also guarantee the cleanliness of the camera’s mirror chamber sensor.
The Irix 45mm f/1.4 lens has a module that allows you to control the lens iris directly from the camera, thanks to which popular semi-automatic modes (PASM) and data recording in EXIF format are available.
The use of electronics also enables the lens to be equipped with a focus confirmation system – the camera will announce the correct focus setting (either in the form of an icon in the viewfinder, or as a sound) every time you set the focus correctly – it’s easy and convenient!
Focus Lock allows you to lock the focus ring in a specific position. This is especially useful when we want to maintain a specific distance to the subject (zone-focusing), or when we want to maintain perfect focus on infinity during landscape photography.
Focus Ring – We know how much you liked the focus ring on the Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1, that’s why we decided to use a similar one in our 45mm f/1.4 lens. After many tests, we have developed a ring material characterized by its high mechanical strength and resistance to adverse conditions. Special texturing allows for reliable and precise focusing, and dedicated embossed dimples allow you to feel the ring’s position even without looking for it- making focusing even easier.
