SiOnyx IR Illuminator Kit (940nm/Tripod Mount)

The SiOnyx IR Illuminator Kit is everything you need to be able to see with your SiOnyx Aurora color night vision camera, even when no light is present. This infrared torched is specially developed and tuned to the SiOnyx Aurora CMOS sensor for the perfect balance of color and brightness. The LED infrared beam has an invisible 940nm glow and an adjustable infrared beam of 4.5 (focus) to 40 degrees (flood).

The IR Illuminator comes standard with a 1/4" threaded mounting to attach it to your SiOnyx Aurora camera. Additionally, you will also receive a Weaver/Picatinny mount, two rechargeable batteries with a charger and a transport case.

When do I need IR and when not?

Despite the fact that the SiOnyx Auroras are equipped with very light sensitive CMOS sensors: a certain form of residual light (such as moon or starlight) remains necessary. In some situations there may be no residual light at all, for example in a dark house or in a remote forest in complete darkness. Therefore, extra infrared light may sometimes be necessary. With this IR set you create that extra light, which is visible through the night vision cameras but not with the human eye. This way you are still able to see.

However, there are also situations that IR is certainly not desired, such as airsoft or paintball. The infrared light is not visible to your own eye, but your opponents are able to see it through their night vision camera. Obviously you can still use an IR illuminator for those purposes and turn it off when desired.

Application SiOnyx IR Illuminator Set

This infrared illuminator is extremely suitable when you want to be able to see with your SiOnyx color night vision cameraeven when there is hardly or no ambient light present. Or when you want to increase the viewing distance with your night viewer or want to see more details. This IR is suitable for hunting, security, tactical or general nature observations. With this IR set you will be able to increase the viewing distance with your SiOnyx night vision camera and you are no longer dependant on the amount of ambient light. This set is at least suitable for the Aurora SPORT, Aurora BLACK and the Aurora STANDARD (Classic).

How do I attach the IR Illuminator?

You can use the infrared illuminator in several ways, for example:

• On the tripod connection at the bottom of the SiOnyx Aurora color night vision cameras (mount included)
• On any Weaver/Picatinny rail, such as on the side of your night vision rifle scope or on a helmet (mount included)
• Handheld to 'illuminate' the environment extra when necessary
