The Luna Optics LN-G3-M50 Digital Day/Night Vision Monocular 6-36x50 Gen-3 (upgrade of the LN-G3-M) is a 3-in-1 camera, equipped with a 50mm lens and a 6 to 36x zoom function. The monocular belongs to the third generation and thus has the latest generation of image sensors. The environment is projected in Full-HD on the 0.38" HD AMOLED-Q 1280x720 display, giving you truly razor-sharp images.
During the day, the LN-G3-M50 is a spotting scope and full-HD digital camera; at night, it is a night scope that allows you to observe even in the darkest of nights. For this purpose, the device uses a CMOS infrared sensor and built-in 850nm LED infrared beam. At night, the maximum observation distance is about 1200m (full moon, cloudless) and no less than 400m in complete darkness. During operation you can choose from three different observation modes. For example, you can use the full-color function during the day, while at night you can display images in nightvision green or black/white. The latter is mainly used for reading texts (think of license plates or texts on buildings), while the navy green image is popular for general nightvision observations.
Pictures taken with the camera (12.2MP) or video recorder (1080p) are stored on the included 8GB microSD card. In addition, the residual light amplifier offers the possibility to transfer recordings via a USB cable, but also to your Android or iOS smartphone via a Wi-fi connection. You can also use a micro-HDMI cable (not included) to create a direct video connection to any HD TV or monitor. A 100% waterproof transport case is optionally available for safe and easy transport.
The monocular can be used universally, but focuses specifically on the demanding private user and professional. Applications for which you can use the LN-G3-M50 include recreational activities such as hunting or wildlife observation, but the LN-G3-M50 is also an excellent accessory for stargazing or securing your terrain. In addition, the device is also an excellent tool for professional activities such as rescue operations, navigation, security, law enforcement and defence.
In comparison with Gen-2 night vision devices, the Gen-3's have a higher light output and display quality. This results in much better recognition of (small) details and a considerably larger viewing distance. Below we have put the monocular digital night vision scopes from Luna Optics in an overview.
