The lens can widen horizontal field of view 1.33 times and squeeze more stuff into the sensor, producing a HD 2.4:1 cinematic widescreen. -A popular cinematic feature that makes the audience feel that they are actually in the scene. The lens gives a cinematic result by creating a stunning bluish lens flare and a dreamy oval bokeh.
The optical construction has 13 elements in 10 groups with nano coating and the glass comes from the well-known German glass manufacturer Schott. The optical design minimizes distortion and focus-breathing (focal length change when focusing), and provides a razor-sharp cinematic image.
Together with 8 aperture blades, the lens produces a dreamlike, beautiful and oval bokeh that adds an extra dimension to the end result. Thanks to its unique anamorphic light properties, the lens produces horizontal blue reflections with less stray light and captivating background effects.
The compact and robust lens is made of an aluminum alloy used in aircraft designs. It is 126mm long and weighs 780g (Sony E mount). The focus ring is really smooth and has focus thrust of 189,6 degrees. The new lens comes in five different mounts; Sony E, MFT, Canon EF-M, Nikon Z and Fuji X.
