The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 25mm 1:1.8 (50mm*) lens offers exceptional optical performance together with beautiful bokeh at open apertures and impressive close-focussing capability. This well-built lens sporting compact dimensions, features similar high-end resolution and shallow depth of field characteristics of the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 45mm 1:1.8 lens. The ultra-bright 1:1.8 aperture of this single focal length lens gives you full control of depth of field while enabling outstanding low-light photography without the need for a tripod. This is further accentuated by Olympus’ proprietary in-body image stabilisation technology which counteracts camera shake, resulting in sharp images shot hand-held at long shutter speeds. This Micro Four Thirds lens also boasts near-silent shooting of both still images and movies. Ideal for a wide range of photography, this lens appeals to anyone seeking ultimate image quality and the increased creative freedom of a fast aperture lens, particularly for available light photography. This standard focal length prime lens reproduces a field of view similar to that of the human eye, for perfectly balanced proportions. Available in black or silver to compliment your camera’s finish.

The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 25mm 1:1.8 packs the high performance of a bigger lens into a sleek, compact design. This high-grade lens has an impressively high refractive index, ensuring exceptional spherical aberration correction capability. Despite the lens's compact design, outstanding resolving power offers stunning image quality with high contrast and high precision across the whole image area from the open aperture of 1:1.8.
The fast aperture of the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 25mm 1:1.8 offers you total control of depth of field and is an outstanding lens to create images with beautiful bokeh. Whatever subjects you shoot, discover what the depth of field control of this lens can do for your photography.
We’ve all experienced how difficult it is to take blur-free pictures when shooting under dimly-lit conditions without a tripod and flash. With the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 25mm 1:1.8, however, you can enjoy extended low-light shooting capabilities thanks to the fast 1:1.8 aperture coupled with Olympus’ in-body IS systems for tack-sharp images with minimal camera shake at low shutter speeds . Capture the atmosphere of available low-light conditions with all the freedom and creativity of hand-held shooting. Travel light without the burden of a tripod and shoot freely.
This lens has been designed to get you even closer to the action: the minimum focus distance is just 25cm. By using the macro converter MCON-P02 you can shoot a mere 17cm from your subject - ideal for still-life and close-up photography. The MSC (Movie and Still Compatible) mechanism inside the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 25mm 1:1.8 is the result of optical design technology developed to enable fast, quiet AF. Using a high-precision metallic shaft and feed screw instead of a gear, this mechanism ensures virtually silent operation and a rapid, smooth and above all highly accurate autofocus, giving you stress-free shooting without the “whirr” of lens mechanics for improved sound quality when shooting HD movies. Photographing still images is quiet too, enabling you to get closer to the action without disturbing your subject.
The lens surfaces of the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 25mm 1:1.8 are coated with Olympus's ZERO coating, which cuts the reflectance of wavelengths between 450 and 650 nm by 50%. This ensures clear imaging performance even under challenging conditions, such as shooting against the light. The ZERO coating is a result of optical control technology that Olympus originally developed for microscopes. As well as achieving clear images, this technology also helps prevent scratches and degradation to the lens due to the enhanced strength and durability made possible by vacuum deposition.
This lens looks and feels as good as it performs optically. The quality metallic outer finish provides a comfortable, pleasing texture and the feeling of long-lasting solidity and a classic look appropriate for a true precision instrument.
