The Ring Mount is a tripod mount that allows you to mount (large) lenses on a tripod. The use of this Ring Mount results in a better weight distribution of your equipment, compared to mounting the camera body directly to the tripod. Also, the mount allows you to rotate the camera-body-combination more easily on the tripod.
