The TAO 1Mini is a universal encoder/decoder that creates and distributes professional AV streams on the network or retrieves streams from the network. It turns any camera with HDMI or USB output network-ready and ready for modern IP-based video workflows. Thanks to the modern NDI® codecs, cost-effective latency-free video transmission over long distances is possible. It can also be used to upgrade high-quality PTZ cameras that only support NDI|HX2 to the latest NDI|HX3 or Full NDI codecs. In addition, the TAO 1Mini handles direct streaming to popular video platforms.

Configuration:
Configuration and control are done intuitively via touch on the 2.1 display, which also serves as a compact preview monitor for the video signals. The TAO 1Mini is integrated into the network via its LAN port, which supplies it with power via PoE (Power over Ethernet). Due to two ¼ inch threads, it can be securely mounted on cameras, tripods or in the studio; a mini tripod is also included.

Input signals:
IP streams such as Full NDI, NDI|HX2, NDI|HX3 or RTMP can be received via network connection. The TAO 1Mini can alternatively receive video signals via its HDMI or USB-C UVC input, or read recordings with the H.264 codec from USB storage devices. Additionally, it has a 3.5mm jack for external audio signals, where a delay of up to 160ms can be set. It can be paired with smartphones via Bluetooth to receive videos as RTMP stream from smartphone cameras via its local WiFi hotspot. The required app can be easily installed by scanning the QR code on the smartphone.

Encoder: Flexible formats and protocols
The TAO 1Mini supports a wide range of encoding formats such as H.264, H.265, Full NDI, NDI|HX2 and NDI|HX3 as well as SRT, RTMP, RTMPS or RTSP protocols at up to 80 Mbit/sec. The resolution and bit rate of the output stream can be adjusted according to demand or available bandwidth.
Alternatively, up to 32 streams can be simultaneously streamed directly to popular portals such as Youtube, Facebook or Twitch without the need for a PC.

Outputs:
All signals from the TAO 1Mini can be output via the HDMI output to controlmonitors or to large displays and projectors in various resolutions up to 4K. The 3.5mm audio jack allows you to connect an audio monitor or headphones. When using a TRRS adapter cable with one 3.5mm plug and two 3.5mm jacks (not included), a microphone and headphones can be used simultaneously.

Other features:
The 2.1 round display with its touch control provides a simple preview image with max. 480x480 pixels and 350nita. 5 LEDs in red, green or blue on the side signal the tally status of connected cameras. The USB 3.0 port can record and playback videos in H.264 codec up to 64 Mbit/sec via external USB storage. The quiet fan can be controlled automatically or manually. Firmware updates for upcoming features make the TAO1 future-proof, they can be easily installed via USB memory.
