New product
The smaller size of the microphone contributes to an exceptionally compact appearance that nevertheless fits in with the classic Neumann design. The elegant shape together with the chrome-plated ring will catch your attention at first glance. Inside the microphone is a newly developed large-diaphragm microphone capsule with cardioid characteristic. The maximum sound pressure level (SPL) is 144 dB, a value that allows the TLM 102 to be used for picking up very loud instruments such as percussion, drums or guitar amplifiers.
Its fast transient response makes it suitable for all musical instruments. But its main domain is the voice - both singing and spoken word. The frequency curve is flat with a slight lift above 6 kHz, ensuring minimal voice colouration and clear bass reproduction. For touch noise suppression, the capsule is housed in a flexible hinge. In addition to protecting the capsule, the cover grille also serves as a pop filter to eliminate rarities when capturing vocals and spoken word. Its price and versatile use make the TLM 102 an ideal microphone for home recording studios, project studios, smaller TV and radio. In January 2011, the TLM 102 won the TEC Award - 1st place in the Microphone Recording Technology category. It is available in matte nickel and matte black
