Aputure Amaran AL-MW Overview

The Aputure Amaran AL-MW is an LED light for special tasks, which will work perfectly wherever large, heavy lighting equipment cannot be used. The AL-MW impresses with its enormous power, compact dimensions, and powerful battery. You can use it in conjunction with a gimbal, during travel, and in unusual locations. In addition, the sealed housing allows you to work underwater!

Brighter than Ever

The Amaran AL-MW uses the COB LEDs known from Aputure's studio designs. The use of this technology allows for a much more powerful light output compared to traditional LED arrays. AL-MW sets new standards in the field of mobile lighting, generating a light output of 4,000 lux and up to 6,000 lux in boost mode - twice that of the Aputure AL-MX.

Imperfectly Reproduced Colours

The excellent colour rendering of the emitted light is evidenced by the high CRI and TLCI values. These indicate the degree of similarity of the light to the spectrum of natural sunlight and range from 0 to 100. The higher the value, the better the colour rendering of the illuminated objects - they look more natural. Values above 95, offered by the Aputure lamp, guarantee colour fidelity and correctly rendered depth of tone.

Continuous Operation Around the Clock

The highest quality lithium polymer cells and advanced algorithms ensure long and stable lamp operation regardless of the battery charge. The huge capacity of 3800 mAh enables continuous operation for up to twenty-four hours at the lowest light intensity or 80 minutes of knitting at full power. The USB-C standard power port allows for quick energy replenishment.

Light Effects and Boost Mode

The Amaran AL-MW LED lamp offers an innovative light effects mode in which it can mimic the flashes of fireworks or lightning, the flash of a reporter's lamp, a TV light, and a flickering light bulb. The effects allow you to give the scene a previously unattainable character. In case additional power is needed, the lamp is equipped with a boost mode, in which AL-MW can operate at 150% efficiency for 1 minute, generating a light output of 6,000 lux (measured at a distance of 0.3 m).

Convenient Control

The lamp's control panel has been placed in an easily accessible position on top of the unit. Convenient to use intuitive buttons ensure freedom of operation even when wearing gloves. Five LED indicators clearly show the currently set power, the selected effect, and the battery level.

Tough Competitor

The AL-MW housing is made of aircraft aluminium alloy, which not only looks good but also provides excellent protection and efficient cooling. All housing connections have been sealed so that the lamp meets the IP68 standard and can be used underwater up to a depth of 10m without fear.

Compact Design

The compact design of the device is also not without significance, which users will appreciate especially during transport and travel. The small size and standard tripod mount allow the flash to be easily attached to a camera, camcorder, rig, or gimbal.
