JJC AET-M43S (II) Automatic Extension Tube (10mm/16mm)
The JJC Auto Extension Tube for MFT AET-M43S(II) consists of a set of extension tubes of 10 and 16mm suitable for use with Micro Four Thirds lenses. The extension tubes have no optical elements, so the quality of your lens is maintained and the functionality of your lens does not change.
Each lens has a minimum focus distance. By placing an extension tube between your camera body and your lens, you reduce the minimum focusing distance. As a result, you can focus on your subject in a larger frame, ideal for macro photography for example.
How does a spacer work?
A spacer ring creates a larger distance between the image sensor of the camera and the rear lens of the lens. This shortens the focusing distance of the lens, making it possible to focus closer on the subject. As a result, the subject is projected onto the sensor larger than it would be without a spacer ring. A spacer ring thus increases the magnification factor of a lens.
This is calculated using the following formula:
Maximum magnification with a spacer ring = lens magnification factor + (mm spacer ring / focal length)
Suppose you have an 85mm lens with a magnification factor of 0.13. With the 12mm ring the magnification of the lens becomes as follows:
Maximum magnification with 12mm ring = 0.13 + (12 / 85) = 0.13 + 0.14 = 0.27
