The Canon PowerShot G1 X is a great compact camera with a great range in terms of usability. For example, the sensitive senso of this camera is also a pleasure for taking macro shots. But these kinds of shots often benefit from extra exposure. Canon did release the MR 14EX or MT 24 macro flash for this purpose, but because the G1 X is a compact camera with a built in zoom lens, there is no way to attach these flash units to the compact camera as standard. And thats where the JJC MLA JDC1 Macro Light Adapter comes in handy.


The MLA JDC1 Macro Light Adapter is in fact nothing more than a tube that can be fitted around the housing of the zoom lens. You can then attach the macro flash to this tube. A disadvantage of the MLA JDC1 could be that when attached you might get vignetting in wide angle mode, but when taking macro shots you are using zoom so this really shouldnt be significant.,
