Mixing and Usage

When mixing part A with part B, it is ready for use and can be reused multiple times within two months. It can also be diluted 11 times and used as a one-time solution.

Best Results

The best results are achieved using cubic grain films, such as Ilford HP5 and FP4, Kodak Tri-X, Rollei RPX, Fomapan, or Kentmere. It is not recommended for use with T-grain films, such as Ilford Delta and Kodak T-Max.

Quick and Simple Solution

ars-imago MB Monobath is an effective solution for developing and fixing black and white films in a single bath.

Preparation and Development Times

A+B Stock

When part A is mixed with part B in equal parts, you obtain a working solution that can be reused multiple times within two months, which is the time frame for guaranteed development. The recommended development time is 8 minutes with standard agitation of 10 seconds for each minute.

Dilution 2+1+1

If the working solution is mixed with an equal amount of water, a diluted solution is obtained (2 parts water, 1 part A, and 1 part B), which can be used as a one-time solution that must be disposed of after use. The recommended development time is 10 minutes with standard agitation of 10 seconds for each minute. After the development process, the film should be washed in running water for at least 10 minutes.

Important Notes

  • TEMPERATURE: Temperature does not significantly affect the development process, but it should be within the range of 20-25C.
  • AGITATION: Continuous agitation for the first 30 seconds, followed by 3-4 inversions (or 10 seconds) every minute for the remaining development time.
  • CAPACITY/DURATION: Up to 15 films can be developed within two months using the working solution. However, it is possible that the capacity and duration may be greater. The diluted solution must be properly disposed of after use.
