Caruba UV + CPL + ND8 Filter Kit 46mm The Caruba UV + CPL + ND8 Filter Kit consists of three different filters with a filter size of 46mm: a polarisation, UV and ND filter. With this you have the most important filters that give you as a photographer much more possibilities. The lightweight filters have a twelve-layer coating and come in a handy storage pouch, with room for an optional fourth filter.
UV filter
A UV filter is one of the most commonly used filters that you can leave on your lens. A UV filter provides optimum protection for your front lens against scratches, greasy fingers and dust. The filter optimizes contrast, reduces unwanted stray light and counteracts the blue haze that can occur. The use of a UV filter is therefore particularly recommended when shooting in an environment with a very clear sky. Since it is a neutral filter you can experiment with it. Try sticking a black cardboard shape on the filter to influence the circularity of the bokeh!
Circular polarising filter
A circular polarising filter is often used for landscape and architectural photography. The overall saturation of the image is slightly enhanced, but especially the blue tones of a sky are rendered darker. You can also influence the visibility of reflections from glass or water by turning the filter. You can see the effect of the filter by looking through the viewfinder and turning the filter. For example, you control the extent to which a surface's reflection is visible in the final result.
ND8 filter
A grey scale filter is also called an ND filter. The letters ND stand for "Neutral Density"..., it is a neutral grey filter. This filter does not affect the colours in your photos, but the amount of light that enters through the lens. An ND8 filter blocks 3 stops of light. This gives you the freedom to experiment with extra long shutter speeds. Think of photographing running water or making people "disappear" in a street scene. A grey filter is also useful if you want to shoot with a large aperture or want to shoot videos in a situation with a lot of light. For filmmakers, a good neutral grey filter is essential! The filter in this kit from Caruba is good for three stops less light.
