Transmission Circular Käsemann MRC Nano is the most exclusive filter in the series of high-quality polarization filters from Schneider Kreuznach. Neutral color reproduction, efficient suppression of reflections, very high resistance to external influences and outstanding light transmission characterize the B+W HTC Käsemann MRC Nano. The Master filter holder has a very thin profile, which makes the polarizing filter also suitable for wide-angle lenses.
B+W Polarizing Filter High Transmission Käseman is of the highest quality with specially selected polarizing foil that provides unparalleled color neutral reproduction and degree of extinction. The foil is joined between optical glass and provided with a very tight edge seal. The glass is then ground and polished further, which gives the filter exceptional sharpness and function, excellent even for bright apochromatic lenses.
HTC, High Transmission Circular, polarizing filter has polarizing film that has outstandingly high light transmission without performance degradation. Filter factor for HTC polarizing filter is only 2-3 (1-1.5 aperture stops), to compare with standard filters which have filter factor 4-8 (up to 3 aperture stops).
The advantages of HTC, compared to standard polarization filters, are many. With HTC filters, it is possible to choose a faster shutter speed or a smaller aperture, without increasing the camera's ISO number, than when using conventional polarization filters. In addition, the image in the camera's viewfinder/monitor is brighter, which simplifies image composition, camera settings, etc.
Polarization filters remove reflective light in e.g. glass and water and increases color rendering and contrast. Ideal for nature photos, vacation photos, architectural photography, etc. Thanks to the fact that reflections in various materials, such as glass, stone, water, etc., are filtered out, the camera can record the structure and color of the subject. This means that the effect created with polarizing filters cannot be recreated in an image editing program.
MRC Nano Anti-Reflective Coating (Multi Resistant Coating)
Nano Anti-reflective coating means a very tight and hard surface seal of the filter. MRC Nano has seven layers of anti-reflective coating on both filter surfaces.
On top of the anti-reflective coating, an extremely hard protective layer is applied that resists dirt, moisture and is extra resistant to scratches and facilitates cleaning. The MRC Nano treatment of filters increases the light transmission to approx. 99% (an untreated filter glass lets through 92%).
Master filter holder made of brass. Very thin filter holder designed to also fit wide-angle and zoom lenses with focal length down to 17mm for camera with full-frame sensor and 10mm for camera with sensor size equivalent to APS-C. The filter threads are specially treated, which simplifies assembly and disassembly of the filter. Despite the thin profile, the Master filter holder also has a front thread, which enables the installation of other accessories such as e.g. anti-light protection.
