The Laowa Proteus Cine lenses feature a patented anamorphic design, favored by professionals for their smooth oval bokeh and distinctive flares. With a constant 2x squeeze factor, they achieve an ultra-wide aspect ratio, a standard in the cinema industry.

Images from a 43 sensor yield a 2.661 aspect ratio, while a 65 sensor results in 2.41, both allowing cropping to an ideal 2.391 ratio. The lenses support the S35+ sensor format, covering the Alexa 35 and Red V-Raptor 7K sensors.

The large T2 aperture is ideal for low-light filming, producing sharp images and effectively separating subjects from backgrounds. Optimal image quality is reached at T4, with a close focus distance of just 48 cm, enhancing the characteristic thin and long bokeh of anamorphic lenses.

Laowa offers three flare color options: blue, amber, or silver.
