Laowa 12mm f/2.9 Zero-D Cine is the world’s widest lens with T/2.9 transmission and near-zero image distortion.
A remarkably wide angle of view (122°) and high brightness make the Laowa 12 mm f/2.9 Zero-D Cine lens great for landscape, outdoor, and scenes shot in tight spaces. Its low weight and compact size allow you to shoot ‘handheld’ shots and using gimbals with ease. The image coverage area is compatible with VistaVision (37.70×25.00 mm) and Arri Alexa LF (36.70×25.54 mm) sensors, thus it works perfectly with smaller sensors as well.
The optical design of the Laova 12mm f/2.9 Zero-D Cine lens consists of sixteen elements arranged in ten groups. Three low-dispersion lenses and two aspherical glasses provide superior edge-to-edge imaging of the entire frame, even at wide-open apertures. Both the focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch film gears adapted to cine follow focus motors.
Mounting of the compendium and therefore filters is possible thanks to a 114mm diameter adapter ring. The Peli case with its form-fitting sponge effectively protects the lens during transport.
